■ Open position Trading Engineer
■ Roles and Responsibilities As a Trading Engineer you will be part of a highly experienced team, responsible for maintaining a robust, best in class, extremely low latency Linux trading environment. The skills necessary to excel could range from system administration, network troubleshooting, database tuning, development, release management and performance engineering. This role provides daily challenges as no day is the same as the next. You will interact closely with the Sydney office, collaborating with the systems, performance and network engineers as well as traders.
Your Core Responsibilities: - Provide continuity and stability to the production trading environment. - Manage Data Centers hosting its trading infrastructure, including proactive system and capacity management. - Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools - Trading system project management in collaboration with traders and developers - Drive system improvements, quality and management of our trading systems - Automate processes through test driven development - Troubleshooting with root cause analysis - Support and oversight on corporate infrastructure where required - Contribute to good engineering practices and scalable solutions - Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies - Liaise with vendors for IT related tasks and problem resolutions
Your Skills and Experience: - Fluent in English both verbal and written is a must. - Fluent in Korean both verbal and written is a strong advantage. - Minimum of 4 years’ experience in sell-side or buy-side financial field o Or minimum of 2 years’ experience in sell-side or buy-side financial field with a relevant Master’s degree or above. o Or data processing engineer / information communications engineer license holder. - Tertiary qualifications in engineering, computer science or a related subject preferred. - Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments. - Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef). - Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python). - Good command of networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP). - Derivatives and/or structured products experience a plus.
